Workshop at the VC Gallery

Yesterday (Wednesday 12 June) Curator Mark Lewis and Events Co-ordinator Chloe Ashton-Milton from Tenby Museum held a workshop at the VC Gallery in Haverfordwest, based around four works of art in different styles. The pictures were The Bride & Groom by John Uzzell Edwards, Flamenco by Olivia Argent, Self Portrait buy Augustus John and an original German one sheet poster for the 1977 Terry Gilliam movie Jabberwocky, designed by Vic Field.

The museum curator Mark Lewis spoke about the works, giving the gallery background details on their artists and styles and those who attended the workshop interacted with the works and discussion. They then drew in similar styles their favourite works and produced some seriously high class work! The talk will now be taken to the VC Gallery in Pembroke Dock (on Wednesday 19 June).

Mark said, “This was a really enjoyable couple of hours. The VC Gallery does such amazing work in the community and it was great to once again work with them on an arts project. Museums have so many untapped resources in stores that often get overlooked and under used so it was worthwhile just for that. However to provide additional benefit to such a fabulous cause, to engage people, to truly help out, to be relevant to communities, was the icing on the cake.”
