The new art exhibition, Three Artists, featuring the paintings of David Button and Jean Francis and the textiles of Paula Widdicombe, was officially opened at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery by Professor Tony Curtis on Saturday 10 March.

In his opening speech Professor Curtis, who has known the artist for some years, stated that the work on show was “Impressive, serious, grown up and engaged with the serious issues of loss and grief and the important things in life. There is the recurring motif of the White Raven, depicting the loss of a child. The exhibition reinforces the necessity to enjoy life here and now. The day to day visitor will not know the personal context of much of the work but will still find it compelling and engaging and powerful but rewarding to live with. There is a playfulness in David’s work also and Paula’s work has a spirituality about it, which in truth can be said of the whole room. It is a wonderful space and perfectly exhibited.”

Jean thanked the museum for providing such a wonderful space for their work to be exhibited and praised the museum on continuing to be supportive of the arts.

This sales exhibition runs until Sunday 22 April.
