Museum gallery refurbishment Day 12

Okay, as you will see for the picture my over-reaching optimism (does that qualify as a Shakespearian flaw?) saw me enthusiastically assume that we would not need to put on a third coat and today I was proved very badly wrong.  There were too many ‘patches’ to ignore and so we decided that we should just go for the full cover coat of emulsion on walls and ceiling, and make a concerted effort to start the glossing.  It is going well and we hope to have broken its back today (before it breaks ours).  There is quite a lot of banter on the painting team which makes the time and task seem less arduous and occasionally a groan or a mumble or a naughty word (and I apologise for all three of these!!).  Tomorrow is a day I think where we will let the glossing dry and review the situation once again.  We have a date for the electricians to come back and fit the lights and so there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!  The blog may rest now for a week or so and I will come back to it with a renewed vigour.

Third and (fingers crossed) final coat!
