MODES Complete

The museum was the recent recipient of a grant from the Welsh Federation of Museums and Galleries to update their computerised documentation programme from Modes for Windows to MODES Complete, including associated hardware.

Since its creation in 1987 MODES has become the most popular collections software in UK museums.  It has been developed over the years by collections management experts  and today the MODES Users Association has more than 660 members.

Five the museum members of staff, volunteers ands trustees underwent the training, which was taken by Nick Pearce-Smith, Customer Support Manager, who spent one and a half patient days with us.  We are now fully prepared (fingers crossed) to continue updating the museum’s documentation system, with the long-term aim of having a browsable online catalogue for researchers to access.

And the good news is, is that the MODES team are at the end of a phone if (and when) we need their additional advice!
