DISABLED ACCESS

The museum is located on Castle Hill which is approached via a steep but accessible hill. Currently, Spring 2015, it is not possible for wheelchair users to get access to our upper galleries as our porch lift is being repaired. It is our hope to make every visitor’s experience in the museum both informative and entertaining and we ask that wheelchairs users let us know in advance of their planned date so that we can make as much preparation as possible. It is the museum’s policy to charge admission to disabled users but to allow any carer free admission.  The Research facilities are fully accessible to disabled users. The museum can provide a wheelchair free of charge if required.

There are parking spaces for Blue Badge holders in the harbour area.
