Museum celebrates Jubilee

Tenby Museum and Art Gallery volunteer Alex Powell has put together an exhibition of commemorative memorabilia from various royal events as part of the celebrations for the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The earliest piece in the exhibition is “Royal Chronological Tables of English History”, an instructional jigsaw, published around 1790, with the most recent artefact being a limited edition jar of commemorative ‘Ma’aM-ite’.  Also included are various medals, coins, plates, cups, mugs, beakers, postcards, national publications and pamphlets from official occasions as well as a chair form the 1969 Investiture of Prince Charles and a photograph of the Queen inspecting the Yeoman of the Guard at Buckingham Palace by Rebecca Naden, Royal Photographer of the Year in 1993.  Many local people have contributed various items for the show.

The exhibition, in the new Temporary Exhibition Gallery at Tenby Museum, will run for approximately one month.
