Is There A Doctor In The House? opens at the museum
No, its not a Brian Rix farce but Is There A Doctor In The House? is a new display of interesting, grisly, sometimes eye-watering assortment of medical objects from the museum’s collection. Replacing the Cabinet of Curiosity, the display features amongst other things, amputation knives, a dental mould, the New Slipper Bed Pan (where ‘considerable comfort will be afforded’), a tray of catheters and other objects guaranteed to endure a wince! There is also the history of Medical Hall, the chemists that stood in Tudor Square for over 160 years.
