Tenby’s Museum & art Gallery have had a bustling weekend whilst celebrating a well-earned success & end to the year.

The Museum had been lucky enough to have been allocated a stall at this Years first ‘Tenby Christmas Market & weekend”, which was held in the De Valence. This took place over the weekend of the 14/12/18 – 16/12/18. It was lovely to see so many local businesses taking part. Our presence helped to spread the word in the community about our charity and it also gave us chance to show off some of the artwork & gifts we stock.

On the 15th of December ‘Santa’s Christmas card workshop’ took place. It was a sell out, despite the bad weather and a great introduction to the museums workshops projects. The VC Gallery showed great support in helping the museum to achieve this session by providing 2-featured artists who input their own creative touches. The children and family’s had the chance to make quirky Christmas cards together and they even got the chance to show them off to Santa himself. More events like this will be introduced to the public in the new year, the museum’s team are very excited to be bringing further creative opportunities like this to Tenby.

To honour the volunteers who help the museum all got together to reminisce 2018 success, which included great triumphs such as ‘Nicky’s Wire’s’ first art show as well as the continued support of events from the friends of the museum. We celebrated the 140th anniversary with a Christmas lunch gathering, which took place at the ‘Giltar hotel’. The efforts of those who help the museum with various roles, assisted in ensuring that the museum achieved this milestone.

The museum want to thank everyone for their efforts from 2018. We hope to continue to scale this success and celebrate the museums 150th Anniversary and subsequent ceremonies.
The Museum will close over the holiday period at 12.30pm on Saturday the 22nd of December and will re-open on the 2nd of January 2019 at 10am for visitors.
Thank you for all the faith and dedication towards the museum, we wish you a warm and happy Christmas and we hope to see you in the new year. Take care.
