We are seeking support from Aviva’s Community Fund to finance an element of a larger project connected with our brilliant and extensive natural history collections. This particular part of the larger project will be locally focused and will hopefully take place during the winter to early spring 2017. It is aimed to engage local schools and community groups by using the museum’s collections, relating them to the surrounding beaches and dunes and so educate as well as entertain.
It is a proposed community art project, to be displayed on the railings outside the museum. It will also involve local artists. The project will encourage schools and groups to depict their views of conservation, cleanliness of beaches and the rich resource of the marine environment. Rather than a formal piece, the style will be ‘graffiti’ and will encourage individual expression of this important theme.
The project requires votes to be successful. You can find out more about the project and vote for it by following this link:
Your support is greatly appreciated and if you could also share the link via social media sites that would be fantastic!
