On Friday 5th January 2018 Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is fortunate to have two fabulous jazz and folk bands playing at the museum.

The Firebyrd Trio comprises local musicians George Whitfield (accordion), Jack Deere-Jones (double bass) and Alan Argent (saxophone). The band formed after playing together in various jazz oriented projects and they came together to focus on playing music which they have enjoyed adapting into their own unique format. The group performs a range of jazz standards, some of its own material and also borrows well-known songs from folk and pop genres as a basis for improvisation in what will be a daring yet fun and festive occasion to help raise funds for the museum.

On the evening they will be joined by The Small Town Satellites, made up of Duncan and Rebecca Whitehurst (vocals, guitar and violin) and also Jack Deere-Jones (double bass) and Harry Whitehurst (percussion). This folk band will be performing self-penned songs from their forthcoming album, Step Into the Light and this is a rare Tenby appearance for the band and a unique opportunity to hear their new material in advance of the album release in March.

The music starts at 7.00pm. Tickets for this wonderful evening are £12, to include a glass of wine. If you are interested please contact the museum, either by email (tenbymuseum@gmail.com) or by leaving a message on the answerphone. We will pick this up when we re-open on 2 January 2018.
