A Walk on the Beach

We all love to walk on the beach…getting sand between our toes…William Lyons in the early 19th Century didn’t just take a walk on a beach, he collected and amassed a seminal shell collection which his daughter donated to Tenby Museum and Art Gallery in 1878.  To celebrate this Local Hero and thanks to the Royal Society’s funding were arranging a discovery walk on the beach on Thursday 27th July – 2.30pm to see what we can find and talk about the early shell collectors.   Adult tickets are £4.00 each and if you’d like to book a place call 01834 842809 – children are welcome free but must be accompanied by an adult.  There will be identification sheets to take home so that everyone can go on discovering and perhaps, like William Lyons, find a shell that no-one had ever identified before.
